Massage is
one of the most naturally healing things that you can do for
yourself. The nurturing touch is simple, instinctual, and
more powerful than we can imagine. Some of the many studies
on touch show conclusively that it reduces stress,
alleviates depression, reduces pain, boosts the immune
system, and helps pre-mature babies catch up in their
development. Without touch we close down. With touch we
love, communicate, and nurture one another. Massage is not
just a profession for a special few; it is part of the
healing touch we all possess. |

Massage

using certain strokes and have developed systematic
techniques to relieve the pain and stress of mankind. There
are literally dozens of these therapies, each with their own
association dedicated to supporting its members and
promoting the benefits of their work. Patty's massage

Swedish
Massage is now known as "traditional" massage. It is
effective for most ailments, because massaging the skin, the
body's largest organ, sets up a chain reaction that produces
a positive effect on all layers and systems of the body. It
affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, and
promotes health and well being. |

Deep Tissue
Massage focuses on the deeper layer of the muscle tissue. It
aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body
through deeper techniques that include Neuromuscular Therapy
and Myofascial Release. Deep Tissue Massage helps to break
up and eliminate scar tissue and usually focuses on more
specific areas. This massage may cause some soreness during
or right after the massage. |

Myofascial
Release is a very effective hands-on technique that provides
sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate
pain and restore motion. The use of Myofascial Release
allows a look at each client as a unique individual.
Myofascial therapy is intuitive; it is applicable for all
clients and it addresses all levels of the human structure:
physical, emotional and mental. |

CranioSacral
Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and
enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system
called the craniosacral system. Using a soft touch generally
no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, it
is used to release restrictions in the craniosacral system
to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. |

Sports Massage is a special form of massage and is typically
used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose
of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak
performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to
reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent
injuries. |

Prenatal
Massage shares many of the goals of regular massage; to
relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation
and mobility, and just make you feel good. But it's also
tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and
their changing bodies, and techniques are adjusted
accordingly. |

An initial
series of RolfingĀ® Structural Integration usually consists
of about 10 sessions and each session builds on the results
of the previous ones. As the practitioner progressively
reduces structural restrictions, your body becomes aligned
and can move with ease. |
